“Dancing in the Streets of Hyannis!”

Family Activities are planned for Hyannis 2:00 PM-8:00 PM

Traditional Parades and Celebrations scheduled in

Barnstable Village, Cotuit and Hyannis Port

Starting at 2:00 PM the traditional Hyannis Marina Boat Parade will take place in Hyannis Harbor. Boats are invited to line up starting at 1:00 PM at the marina and the parade enters the Harbor at 2:00 PM where spectators will find interactive family activities taking place at Aselton Park from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM as they cheer on the boaters and enjoy the decorated vessels. Don’t forget your camera!

The Hyannis Village Green will feature familiar family activities from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM including the Roaming Railway that loops around the Hyannis Village Green and Harbor Overlook brick pathway and the interactive Fun Zone with plenty of family friendly games.  The Town Band plays on the Bandstand from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM followed by special guests, Mamma’s Marmalade. Since their formation in 2014, the five piece string band has been fusing diverse musical backgrounds into a sound that bursts at the seams with energy, exuding a pure joy for creating music. Providing a window to the future of bluegrass while keeping the flavor of Americana and Rock n’ Roll alive, Mamma’s honest lyrics and warm, acoustic tones invite listeners back to a time when wooden instruments and sweet vocal harmonies captivated the hearts of America. Experimenting with intricate instrumentals and lively originals, their music brings the genre to new and unexpected places.

Starting at 4:00 PM Hyannis Main Street will come alive with activity as jugglers, stilt walkers and other revelry makers will be “Dancing in the Streets of Hyannis.” DJ stations and live musicians will be dotted along the mile-long pedestrian walkway and invite folks to dance along with them; enjoy the activities in the kids FunZone and encourage movement throughout the experience.

HYANNIS PORT MINI-MARATHON & PARADE -- The traditional fun run starts at the Post Office at 9:00 AM followed by the parade at 11:00 AM beginning at the Hyannisport Post Office on Longwood Avenue; taking a left onto Washington Avenue; a right onto Lafayette Avenue; left onto Winchester Avenue; a left onto Scudder Avenue and continuing onto Dale Avenue to the West Beach Club, where it will end.  https://www.hyannisportcivic.org

A Summer Garden Celebration

The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is an annual celebration of the region's blue, pink, and white signature flowers and everything gardens on Cape Cod! This ten-day festival's main attractions are the daily tours of private gardens, each designed and maintained by the individual homeowners and carrying a unique charm. You are sure to enjoy such eclectic spaces, not to mention the good feeling of supporting a variety of local nonprofits which will benefit from the proceeds of each tour.

Gardens are only one part of the festival. Enjoy workshops and lectures presented by leading international horticulturalists, discover promotions at participating nurseries and home centers, take a class to learn proper hydrangea pruning techniques, or even watch a painting demonstration by renowned local artists.

Cotuit Kite Festival

July 3-4, 2021

A village-wide celebration of colorful kites!

The week preceding 4th of July holiday weekend, we will decorate the main theater with kites hanging from the rafters. Think John Travolta on a kite. Think mylar glittering tails. Then the community can get in on the action as well. On Saturday evening at 7:30pm our DJ will be spinning the greatest hits of the disco era as patrons with proof of vaccination gather to dance the night away, and boy do we need it. Here’s the best part - admission is FREE to those who bring a kite! We’ll hang all the kites around the balcony in the theater and Fly, Robin, Fly. We look forward to promoting our partners’ events and will bring awareness to the Cotuit Library’s new kite lending program.

Saturday, July 3 at 7:30pm
Tickets $15, $10 for Members
Bring a KITE for Free Admission!

Love Local Fests are ON!

Save the Dates

July 25, September 26, December 4 and 5

Love Live Local’s Love Local Fests are events where people gather and to show their support for the local business community. They occur the last Sunday in July and September and the first weekend in December. Each event is free and open to the public and features the work of 75-120 Cape Cod makers, artisans, artists, farmers and local businesses, along with local entertainment and opportunities to connect with the community. The summer festivals take place at Aselton Park on Hyannis Harbor. This is when we showcase an amazing collection of Cape Cod’s homegrown artists, artisans, farmers, food trucks, musicians + other independent makers.
