  • JFK Museum

    Right off Main Street is the popular John F. Kennedy Museum. Commemorating John F. Kennedy’s life and legacy, the museum shows photographs and even interactive exhibits. Open year round, this museum is a great choice to learn about how JFK’s legacy impacts Hyannis. The museum is the first stop of the Kennedy Legacy trail, an hour and a half walk around Hyannis visiting historical JFK sites around Hyannis, including the church he attended to his memorial at Veterans Memorial Park Beach.

  • Veterans Memorial Beach Park

    About a 25 minute walk from Hyannis Inn is Veterans Memorial Park Beach. This historical beach in Lewis Bay has a little bit for everyone from swimming to the open barbecues to the swing sets. The JFK Memorial overlooks the beach from atop a hill with the Korean War Memorial standing beside it. This is also the last stop of the Kennedy Legacy Trail, making a good resting stop whether you want to go swimming or eat a snack from the snack bar.

    Fourth of July fireworks launch in Lewis Bay, making this a prime spot to watch the fireworks.

  • Craigville Beach

    Head a tad west and you'll end up at the beautiful Craigville beach. With ample parking and quaint restaurants across the street, it's easy to spend an entire beach day soaking up the sun.

  • Kalmus Beach

    About a 30 minute walk from Hyannis Inn is Kalmus Beach. This quaint beach hugs the corner of Lewis Bay where you can see Ferries come and go to the islands. This picturesque beach is quieter than its neighbor Veterans Memorial Park Beach, making it a go-to spot for anyone who wants a more peaceful beach experience. There is a snack bar and bathrooms, but no barbecue or swing sets like Veterans Memorial Park Beach.
